Altered Book

A new catalyst is up at the Creative Therapy website and this week we have Lucy Folch as our guest designer. The prompt: What's something you want to accomplish before you die? I want to publish a book, maybe a book for children with my own illustrations (wow!) or a book to help people work on their creativity. While I still can´t accomplish it, I continue working on scrapbook altered books borrowing Disney´s and Danielle Thompson´s illustrations.

Wow, I have amazing news for today. tutorial: embroidery frame

To add some interest and texture while framing a photo you can sew/embroider it. Using a circle chart and a pin make holes on the paper and sew it crisscrossing as shown in the picture. Keep on doing it until you fill in all the holes You can see below a tutorial in Portuguese with more photos and detais.

Segue um Passo-a-Passo mais detalhado desta dica, pra vocês verem uma demonstração do que pode ser feito com um gabarito circular.

Observem: 1. Separe um gabarito circular, agulha, linha, base de EVA , um pin e uma folha de cardstock, que é mais grosso e fornece uma melhor base para o nosso bordado 2. Use o gabarito circular e seu pin e faça furos no papel, sem pular nenhum! 3. Com agulha e linha, inicie o bordado cruzado (quando mais próxima a distância entre os furos, mais fino seu bordado ficará) 4. volte a linha pelo buraco de cima

5. E cruze-a pelo buraco logo abaixo do que você bordou

6. prossiga sempre assim: passe a linha de um lado pelo buraco acima do bordado e, do outro, pelo de baixo

7. Bordando cruzado sem perder nenhum buraco, até completar todo o trançado!
