Hi everybody,
Today at Crate Paper blog and here, I´ll show you how to add some pop up elements to a layout. Yes, it´s another three-dimensional piece.
One of my favorite aspects of Crate's most recent collections is that many of the paper and embellishment designs are inspired by games and game boards. So this time, I wanted to do something creative with the designs and because I had beautiful photos of my daughter dressed as Alice in Wonderland, the association with "Alice´s chess" was immediate.

Below you can see some details - the chess with some pop ups pieces and my banner:

Let´s see how to easily include some pop up elements to recreate Alice´s chess:
First, organize the necessary supplies for the project and separate out your collage papers, glue, scissors and of course, "game" papers from CP's Toy Box Collection.

Trim the images you want to use for adding to the board (you can paste them on a thicker paper in order to obtain more stability for your pieces)
Trim small rectangles (like the ones shown) to serve as flaps for your pieces - these will provide additional stability and movement.
Go ahead and crease them and fold them as I have done here.
Adhere the folded papers to the bottom of your collage images/cut-outs. These may need to be adjusted in size to best fit your cut-out. Pre-measuring is suggested.
Finally, adhere the assortment of prepped cut-outs to their desired locations via the application of adhesive along the folded base.
That´s all you need to include some magic and fantasy to decorate a scrapbooking page!
I hope you´ve enjoyed this tutorial!
Sadly, my term with CP has end and this was my last DT work form them, but I´m truly thankful for this past year with Crate. I really had a great time as a CP girl! Anyway, of course, as I adore its products, I´ll continue working with their collections and can´t wait to see the new releases!

This has to be the coolest layout ever! I would love to do something similar to this, as my sons were the Mad Hatter and the Rabbit this last Halloween. The way you created the "pop-up" pieces is insanely cool! TFS!
What a great idea!
you are just too clever girl!
